Introducing Andrew Holmes
A highly experienced professional Chartered Surveyor who values customers, not just their properties.
With such a busy start to 2022, we are somewhat guilty of not properly introducing one of the new members of our team at Milne Moser, Andrew Holmes.
A qualified and highly experienced Chartered Surveyor, Andrew has worked in the residential property sector throughout his career and, as you might appreciate, brings a wealth of invaluable knowledge to his role with Milne Moser as a Property Valuer.
This experience, which spans more than 25-years, equips Andrew to provide accurate market appraisals and sound advice on the sale and purchase of all types of residential properties.
“It’s fair to say that over the years I have represented clients’ interests across a very wide spectrum of property types and values.” Andrew tells us.
“As you would expect from our location here in the South Lakes and North Lancashire, there are so many lovely rural locations and equally desirable villages and characterful towns.”
“The one common thread is the fact that the housing stock is so incredibly varied, even within a very small geographical area – new build townhouses and executive homes can be found on the shoulder of a very traditional or even historic country residence.”
“It may sound like a cliché, but there have been instances where a working day has taken me to one-bedroom apartments in a town centre or a retirement bungalow in a picture postcard village, followed by a visit to a very exclusive private residence in expansive grounds and impressive lake frontages.”
“For all these properties – regardless of size, style and location – we know that there are buyers waiting for a place like this to come on to the market, and for it to become either their first home, their next step up the property ladder or to become their forever dream home.”
Meeting Andrew for the first time and his energy and enthusiasm for his work is immediately apparent, something which we’ve received great feedback on already.
Such comments include him being ‘thoughtful and having a good ear to listen’ and with ‘a sensible and polite manner’ – all qualities which very much align with Milne Moser’s gold standard of providing clients with the highest professional standards.
Previously, Andrew has held positions of company director and partner. In 2004, he was elected as a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and in 2017 was became a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (MNAEA).
“Being prepared is one of the most valuable attributes that my career has taught me.” continues Andrew, “Homeowners really do appreciate that you’ve taken the time to undertake proper research of their type of property and the location, based upon dependable data and that all-important local knowledge.”
“Whilst we will produce a formal report detailing anticipated market value and our recommendations, vendors are always keen to put me on the spot and ask about their property’s potential as soon as possible. Being properly prepared means, I can give them an indication of price from an informed perspective.”
“I also think it’s the courteous thing to do – you have invited me into your home, have taken time out to be there and meet me, and are putting your faith in me. The least I can do is repay this by having done my homework and ensuring that, regardless of whether or not you wish to proceed with Milne Moser, I have provided the professional service you expect and deserve.”
Outside of his working life, Andrew is a keen fly fisherman for both trout and salmon and enjoys mountaineering in the Lake District, Snowdonia and the Scottish Highlands, particularly the latter, where his passion for rivers, lochs and mountain ranges can be combined.
Andrew is a keen sportsman and plays in the Westmorland Cricket League for his local club, Cartmel, during the summer months here in the South Lakes.
“Andrew has been a great addition to the Milne Moser team and right from day one has been attracting glowing feedback about his professional yet very friendly approach.” Comments Rebecca Ladell, Director at Milne Moser Property Limited.
“Such a wealth of experience is a real asset for Milne Moser and something we know our customers at all three of our offices already appreciate. In addition, our own staff are benefitting from Andrew being part of our team and building on their own skills by learning from his years of knowledge in the property sector.”
