Silverdale

The village of Silverdale sits within The Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), a region which is abundant in glorious rolling countryside and pastures, historic woodland and the stunning coastline of Morecambe Bay.

An understandably popular place to live, Silverdale offers a diverse range of housing stock which include modern properties, period villas, townhouses, converted barns and farms, fisherman’s cottages and country retreats.

Silverdale Railway Station is part of the Lancaster-Furness line, with a good regular service connecting to the West Coast Main Line. The main A6 road is a short distance from Silverdale with easy driving to either Milnthorpe and Kendal to the north or Lancaster to the south.

Silverdale is a popular destination for visitors and the village has a good selection of independent shops, pubs and cafes, with a primary school and impressive Anglican parish church.

Many visitors like to stretch their legs along either the Lancashire Coastal Way or the Cumbria Coastal Way (both of which start in Silverdale), or take a somewhat shorter – yet still worthwhile – undertaking and head to Jenny Brown’s Point to enjoy the views across Morecambe Bay.

Silverdale Golf Course is a fine 18-hole course which more than benefits from the beautiful surroundings, with the limestone bedrock aiding drainage on wetter days.

Our team at Milne Moser Milnthorpe office will be more than happy to offer their local knowledge for anyone looking to move to Silverdale and the surrounding area, or help with any current residents considering selling or letting their home in Silverdale.
